National Bank of Kazakhstan warns on cryptocurrency investments
The chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Daniyar Akishev believes that operations with cryptocurrencies are speculative and can lead to the loss of capital, 24.kz reports.
The NBK sent recommendations to the government to enhance monitoring over the cryptocurrency. In particular, the key proposal is to prohibit the purchase of digital money for Kazakhstani tenge, as well as ban the activity of cryptocurrency firms.
The regulator warns citizens of Kazakhstan from investing fiat money into virtual ones.
The National Bank believes that digital money will continue to grow in popularity in 2018, moreover, there will be organizations that will contribute to the expansion of virtual coins.
